2. Cherry Pie Pinot Noir, 2014, Stanley Ranch, Carneros, Napa
Dense ruby in color, the 2014 Stanly Ranch Pinot Noir first shows aromas of crushed berry, fresh lavender and rose with cola undertones. The palate is full-bodied in texture, showing bountiful notes of raspberry jam, baked strawberries and a hint of cherry cola atop cocoa flavors and powdered tannins. Laden with the same bold fruits as on the nose, the mid-palate shows layer upon layer of cranberry, dried rose petal and vanilla, carrying through the long finish.

3. Close Pegase Chardonnay, 2015, Carneros, Napa
Bursting with aromas of bakers spice, brioche and apple blossoms, this chardonnay has all the hallmarks of Carneros terroir. Bright acidity counterbalances ripe fruit, verging in the melon, cantaloupe and pear, spectrum, whilst keeping some green apple flavors for balance. The soft touch of oak helps support the complexity and depth of the wine, giving a touch of vanilla alongside the more secondary characteristics of fresh croissant and toasty hazelnuts. The palate is long and evolving allowing the drinker to savor all the character and intensity this wine has to offer.
Paired with…Prosciutto wrapped halibut, asparagus «fettuccine», summer truffle, grapefruit buerre blanc, candied tomato
4. Sabotage Cabernet Sauvignon, 2015, Napa
Aromatics suggest tobacco, bold black fruit and notes of graphite. On the palate, red, blue and black fruits are balanced by hints of currant, vanilla and mocha. The young tannins will evolve over time and help expand the long finish.
Paired with… Duck confit -brioche bread pudding with goat cheese and fig
5. Delectus Petite Sirah, 2013, Spring Mountain, Napa
Surprising from the moment it is poured, the inky-black 2013 Petite Sirah displays poise and muscle at the same time. Aromatic notes of black pepper, smoke, anise and black licorice vie for attention. The polished, round, ripe tannins are evidence of perfectly-ripe fruit.
Paired with…Braised lamb ragout, spaghetti squash, oven dried tomato, garlic confit, ricotta salata and fresh mint
6. BR Cohn Olive Hill Port, 2015, Sonoma
