The Fort Lauderdale Story Slam is a live storytelling contest in which people tell true stories about their own lives in 5-7 minutes.
The performers include novice and seasoned storytellers, and comprise a diverse range of ages and cultural backgrounds.
We are looking for storytellers aged 15-115 to be in the slam. There is $100 prize money for the winner, and $50 for two runners-up. Tell us your idea for a true, personal story on the event theme: Here's What I Really Think.
You can submit your idea at worldandeye.com/storyslam.
Funding for this project is provided in part by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as recommended by the Broward Cultural Council.
