In this donation-based class, Juan will talk about the basics of mindfulness and then do a guided meditation so you can start practicing right away. This class is for everyone regardless of whether you are a beginner or an experienced meditator.

Mindfulness meditation develops inner tools that help you manage stress more effectively, relax and feel calm, cope with difficult situations and improve attention, memory and performance. Over the last couple of decades, thousands of research articles have been published establishing the efficacy of practicing mindfulness as a way of reducing stress and improving medical and psychological symptoms.
JUAN JOSE REYES
Juan Jose Reyes M.D. is the founder of Mindstay, a company that provides mindfulness programs to health and wellness professionals. Juan is a Board Certified physician and is currently pursuing a Masters in Integrative Medicine at George Washington University. He is a qualified Mindfulness Instructor and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher by the UCSD Mindfulness Professional Training Institute and by the University of Massachusetts Center forMindfulness in Healthcare, Medicine and Society founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn. He started his own journey with meditation in 2006 after completing a ten-day Vipassana retreat with the teachings of SN Goenka. Juan has been practicing
meditation daily and attending Vipassan retreas for the last 11 years.
