This segment of our Teacher Training is open to the public. It is designed for the beginner and the seasoned yogi alike. If you are new to Ashtanga Yoga, you will find this workshop will help you gain a deeper understanding of the Ashtanga practice.
Through a detailed analysis of the intelligence of the Ashtanga sequence we gain an understanding of the biomechanics of postures and insight to the profound depth of the body. By applying technical principles of alignment, regulation of breath and a concentration of body and mind, internal space is created and an expansion of energy and an elevation of consciousness is experienced. Our 'on the mat' foundation becomes the awareness to how we express our selves outwardly and relate to 'others'.
In this workshop, we will:
— Learn the fundamental principals of Ashtanga Yoga.
— Review the history and practice of Ashtanga Yoga.
— The yoga Sutras as they apply to the Ashtanga Yoga Method.
— Practice asana (full primary series) & pranayama with hands on adjustments and modifications of the postures.
— Learn tools for self reflection to see ourselves, our patterns and our limitations as the soil for our growth.
