The Kendall Art Center celebrates first year anniversary! It has been a wonderful experience but also has been quite a challenge to keep all things going smoothly. The learning curve was steep, but, because of the cooperation of artist community. It has been an education and growing experience. We have become somewhat like a large creative family, using different members talents in the organization of exhibitions and events.
Just a year ago, on July 15, 2016, Kendall Art Center KAC opened the doors for its first art opening exhibition with 20 artists from the Leonardo Rodríguez Collection and a crowd of more than 250 people. Since then, KAC has become the place for people to be exposed to great art, create, and simply enjoy the welcoming ambiance of the center. KAC has become an integral part of our community and was named on the top five best art space by the Miami Herald. The Kendall Art Center with the Rodriguez Collection reflects the best work of some of the most accomplished artists in our time.
Come celebrate our first year Friday, July 7th, 2017 from 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM at Kendall Art Center and enjoy the new exhibition “CUBAN SLUGGER” of the Cuban artist Reynerio Tamayo. Tamayo is a Cuban-born artist who studied at the National visual arts school and the Higher Institute of Art in Havana Cuba and is considered one of the most important Cuban artists of his time. Identified four his love of infusing the socio-economic phenomenon that is baseball with portraits of popular cultural icons.
